Relax and enjoy the vibe, baby.
If you can manage to get away for the weekend or if you’re coming from far out of town and have to stay a few days to make it worth it, great! There is plenty of funness to go around in Palm Springs. We love it for (we’ll say it again) the sunshine, the desert, mid-century architecture, lounging by the pool, playing tennis, and just soaking in the swinging vibe over a classic cocktail & game of croquet. If that’s not enough for you, we have some other suggestions too.
Hiking }
Mt. San Jacinto (we got engaged at the top!) via the PS Aerial Tramway. Palm Canyon, Tahquitz Canyon, etc.
Tennis }
PLENTY of public and private courts. Ruth Hardy Park (just a few blocks from the Colony Palms) has a number of public courts. And many of the hotels have their own as well.
Mid-century furniture shopping }
A past time close to our (or one of our) hearts. There are tons of shops along Palm Canyon Drive through downtown Palm Springs.
Golf }
Lots of golf. Probably more golf than tennis. We think La Quinta and Indian Wells might be the most well known, but there are plenty of courses closer to downtown Palm Springs. Obviously, we don’t golf. But the driving range is super fun!
Misc }
Palm Springs Tourism
Palm Springs Art Museum
And don’t forget the outlet stores on the way in or out of town.
